The mission's graveyard is still used today. Headstones in the yard vary from the mid 1900s to 2009. We enter the graveyard from the back door and are met with typical images associated with modern graveyards.

The graveyard is filled with images of holy people whom the early missionaries valued. Two prominent images are of St. Francis of Assisi, and Our Lady of Fatima.

Deeper into the cemetery, we come across an interesting historical image. Almost hidden in a room in the corner of the cemetery, about a underground, are the Franciscan burial crypts. Here, the church stores the remains of each friar or priest who has passed on the grounds or in the community. A few of the crypts date back to a birth date in the late 1800s and some are more recent, with priests who passed as recently as 2008.

We exit the graveyard through the front entrance and journey on into the grounds of the mission.
